(Senior) Innovation Scientist* IIoT & Data Science

Shaping the future of HARTING, actively!

The Senior Innovation Scientist for IIoT & Data Science will drive the Industrial Internet of Things theme and related data science to advance advanced connectivity for industrial applications and provide the technologies to implement data-driven business models. The focus will be on bringing new technologies to life by working with partners, creating functional industrial prototypes, and working with early adopter customers to validate these prototypes.

Your tasks in detail:

  • Co-create with external partners
  • Identify, collaborate and partner with strategic partners, research institutions and other companies
  • Seek out and develop innovative new products, services and business models that significantly diverge from current HARTING offerings and provide significant upside potential for value creation
  • Operate with a start-up mentality in terms of speed to market, focus on rapid prototyping and testing, and work with early adopter customers as soon as possible to get valuable market feedback
  • Manage and coordinate comprehensive topics and their stakeholders
  • Communicate results and opportunities on technical and management level
  • Represent the topics of IIoT and data science as a designated expert and contact person
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the state of the art in technology and market
  • Structure and manage small projects or working bricks, also in an international context

Your skills:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Informatics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar
  • Passionate and open-minded personality with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Technology enthusiast with a distinct personal curiousity in IIoT and data science
  • Experience in designing, developing and applying industrial IoT solutions
  • Knowledge in most of the following scientific areas: cloud infrastructure (Azure), data structures, understanding and application of artificial intelligence and algorithms, digital twin, digital services, common digital exchange formats, programming languages and frameworks
  • Basic knowledge in common hardware architectures for industrial IoT
  • Interest also in adjacent technologies and scientific disciplines
  • Strong networking skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of basic scientific process and engineering principles
